On Friday 28 November the squadron held its annual presentation evening at Dalgety Parish Church. Officer Commanding 859, Flt Lt Batty, took the assembled guests through 859 Squadron's notable achievements in 2014, this was followed by a short presentation from Flight Sergeant Matthew Reid on his experiences with the Air Cadet Pilot Scheme. The Civilian Committee Chairman, Mr Euan Mitchell, then spoke to the guests about the important role that the committee plays in the organisation.
Following a break for tea, coffee and the all important biscuits, Officer Commanding South East Scotland Wing, Wing Commander D C McCrae, then presented cadets with Certificates of Achievement for 2014 and a number of special awards. Those unable to attend received their awards from the OC on Monday 1 December.

On 5-7 December Corporal Joe Greenall attended a Senior NCO Training Course run by the Wing Leadership Team at RAF Leuchars. This course equips cadets with some of the essential skills and knowledge required of a Cadet Sergeant in the ATC.
