Congratulations to Flight Sergeant Joe Greenall and Sergeant Ethan Hunking. Both cadets have been awarded Flying Scholarships under the Air Cadet Pilot Scheme. They will travel to Tayside Aviation in Dundee later this year to undertake 12 hours of flying training in the Aquila A 211 aircraft and 2 weeks of ground school. This will hopefully result in a first solo flight and the award of ACPS Wings.
Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty Commandant Air Cadets and Cadets from 859 (Dalgety Bay) and 2450 (Dudhope) Squadrons present Lord Robert Smith of Kelvin KT CH, who is an ex-Air Cadet, with a replica De Havilland Chipmunk T10 to commemorate his involvement in the launch of the Flying Aces Project by Scotland & Northern Ireland Air Cadets at Tayside Aviation.
On Friday 06 January eight cadets from the squadron visited Edinburgh Airport for a guided tour around both an Airbus A319 and A320 airliner operated by easyJet. The visit was arranged by Captain Greg Lyall assisted by First Officers Brennan and Claire Painter.
An unforeseen delay to the aircraft allowed the cadets a special opportunity to visit the Airport Fire Service.
The squadron would like to say a big thank you to the easyJet crew and to Richard Melrose from the Airport Fire Service for looking after us. The visit was enjoyed by all.
